Ants as pest

Ant is consider as a pest. They're included in the pest control service to be eliminated. Generally, there are 2 methods in controlling ants. 1st, pesticide spraying~~ However, this is not a good method as the chemical is toxic. Moreover, spraying may lead to budding of ants (build another new colony and result in.........more ants =.=ll) So....2nd method is better, that is, ant baiting. The ant poison is added to the attractor(food) to attract the ants to come and eat. The attractor might be something sweet like sugar or protein. After the ants bring the food back to their nest, they'll feed other ants through the process of trophallaxis* and this will kill all the colony.

* Definition from Wikipedia : Trophallaxis is the transfer of food or other fluids among members of a community through mouth-to-mouth (stomodeal) or anus-to-mouth (proctodeal) feeding. It is most highly developed in social insects such as ants, termites, wasps and bees. =)

This is what the technicians teach me today about the bait :

Biasanya kita pakai racun campur dengan madu.
Kalau semut tak makan madu, kita pakai peanut.

Kalau tak makan peanut, kita pakai susu.

Kalau tak minum susu, kita pakai spray.

Kalau tak boleh spray, kita pakai KAKI.

Kalau kaki tak sampai, kita guna............API (saying with very evil smile)

Macam tu semua benda pun akan habis, tak de semut, tak de lipas, tak de tikus ~~ semua pun tak de lagi~~~~ LOL!!! XD

Luffy!!!

I got a key chain from Chee Hui when I went to her room to visit her...erm…perhaps was visiting Dumbo in fact =P It's a plastic toy of Monkey D Luffy from One Piece~~ That time she was packing her luggage and I accidently saw this little Luffy lying on the floor. Then Chee Hui straight gave it to me as she wana clear this so called superfluous thing. Hehe~ Thank you so much~~ Muakz ~

According to her, this Luffy has been traveled to many countries, and finally fall into my hand o_O AND…. Another interesting she told me about this Luffy is….his expression is interchangeable~~!!! Whoa~ by switching the position of the head like dice, he’ll show different expression~~ ^_^

~Happy Mother's Day~

It's Mother's Day again!! We've bought a cake to celebrate this big day for dear mama~

It's a so called horlick cake, 1/2kg and cost RM26~~~ taste not bad =)

On that day, since the whole family members were free and available, my dad decided to drive back to his hometown to visit his dear mama, my grandma. 2 hrs + journey back to Kuala Kangsar, Perak~ We've also 'visited' papa's papa's mama, my dear great grandma........cuz we're unable to make ourselves back during Ching Ming this yr >.<

After dinner at grandma's house, we headed for home~~ back to Alor Star~ that ended our Mother's Day this year ^^

Internship

Phew~~ my internship started on 4th May. Really tiring -__-"

I'm now currently an intern in NLC General Pest Control Sdn. Bhd. (i guess most of the people never heard of that company name). Well, as it's stated in the name, it's a company about pest control. They deal with all sort of pests like termites, ants, cockroaches, fleas, ticks~~~ and bla bla bla~~

Generally there are 2 departments that i'll follow : marketing and techinical. I prefer to follow the marketing people ~~hehe~~cuz the technician are all malay guys.......(and sit shabby van T.T) If you ask me what'll I do during the internship for now, I would say "nothing". Most of the time I just follow the technicians' backside, watching them do the works~ haha~ cuz the technical part need professional skill to do it and I'm not pro enough =P

Training in the company, I get the chance to see the real method of controlling the pests, like chemical spraying, fogging, baiting technique ~ and it's quite interesting also~ but sometimes feel boring cuz nothing to do. hehe~~ However, it's tiring as you have to run here and there, follow the technicians...sometimes even have to work under hot sun!! T.T

7 more weeks to go.....haiz

Labour Day Diary

Dear Diary,

Wohoho~ I'm back to Alor Star~~Home sweet home ^0^
(in fact I was already at home yesterday night =P)

Today's Labour Day! Happy Labour Day to all my friends that are already working~...For those who are still studying, Happy Happy also la ~ haha ~ =D

Since my mom didn't work, she cook 'ho liao' today ~ Hehehe ~~My favourite food--spaghetti !!!! Wohohoho~~ ^^V
My 3rd aunt from Penang came over today too, brought along 3 out of her 4 kids. Big bro didn't follow cuz his mid year exam is coming... He very gambatte wanted to read at home~ what a very hardworking and smart cousin I have ^^~hehe (he's currently studying at Zhong Lin, Penang~~famous school man~~~)
The little princess, the smallest one in the house, became the VIP of our house. Everbody gathered around her, looking at her, playing with her, smiling at her, tried to make her speak~but end up she just mumbling "papa,papa" -____-"
Her 2 brothers were busy playing computer games inside my room ~ sampai my aunt had to yell them for lunch

After lunch I had my hair cut.....shocking to recall that my last hair cut was actually half a year ago story =.= so, now, want to create a new image and be ready for the coming of my industrial training....Huhuhu T.T good bye, my long hair

For dinner, mom cooked her Hakka Yong Tau Fu (yes, she is a Hakka) 100% home made~~

Final exam of 2nd year 2nd semester is officially ended today~ Jz finish my last paper,minor paper, Organizational Behaviour at about 4.15pm (walk out fr exam hall 1 hr earlier~ lol ) Have been study like hell for it on previous few days >.<

Many mini maini mo answer though~ pls la, how I suppose to know the exact percentage for each of the survey that was conducted =.=ll ~ and many topics cant remember well.... aw...forget it ~ now is Happy Hour!!!

However, I gona start my intern life start from 4th May =(

Jz left a few more day for me to enjoy ~ But nevermind la ~ it's still in Alor Star anyway ~ still can stay at home ^_^

V&P gathering Part 3 ~ 电影篇

After finished our meal and taking perasan photos, somebody suggested to go for a midnight movie~ As the time has already passed 10pm, there was no more rapid bus for us to take back. Since the only driver, Eng Hua himself wanted to stay back for movie, all of us have to stay back as well..Haha~~ The price for him is, 3 turns of fetching all of us back to our hostel (too many people >.<) However, later on, one of us(can't remember is who already) accidentally found one red colour piece of paper (with portrait of Tunku Abdul Rahman printed on it) on the floor in front of GSC when we went to buy tickets ~ that made our rides free ~ =P We passed the red thing to Eng Hua as a pay for the petrol XD~ (we're so evil ! )

We've chosen the comedy movie, Paul Blart : Mall cop. They movie will start on 11.35pm~ since there still had some times, we visited the arcade game centre beside GSC. We're having fun playing the drum thing (paise, dono what it's called , but for those who have watched Nodame Cantabile and if u can recall, it's more or less same as the drum thing game that Masumi forestalled Chiaki to play the 'Purigorota' song during their farewell) The players can PK each other, and I vs Eng Hua~~ I won most of the rounds ^^V (thanks to o2jam~)

After that, we went for movie. The movie was quite good. It was hilarious ~Lol~ The movie finished at around 1++ am. We decided to call it a day. Eng Hua fetched us back one group by one group...... that ended our 2nd year 2nd sem uni life with coursemates~

After we've taken our dinner and finished socializing, it was time to take pictures!! =D

Vector group was still the VIP ~ All of us were taking 'family photo' together ~ Sayangnye Yen Ting didn't come on that night =( or else it'll be complete family members already...So, just 9 of us took the photos at Breeks. The 2nd group is from the Agrobiology group~ 4 of them were having photo shots at the next table (we've conquered the best seat ~nice big sofa cushion~ =P)

The rest of the 2 (Biotech & Microb) were taking photos together at another side as well ~

Right after that, ALL of us took the 'ultimate family photos', using Song Quan's super pro camera.

All of us were posting and doing crazy stuffs like acting cool and making scary faces ~lol~ it's fun...Haha!! This might be a way to release ourselves from tension =P

V&P gathering Part 1 ~ 食物篇

Since some of us(excluded me) have finished the final exam, a gathering of Chinese students from Biology and Management of Vector and Parasite (what a long course name) has been held on 24th April 2009 before going back hometown. This gathering have also included some agrobiologists, 1 biotechnologist and 1 Microbiologist~A total of 15 people, who are, 9 from V&P including myself (Yen Ting was absent =( ), 4 from Agrobiology, and 1 from Biotechnology and Microbiology respectively. At first they wanted to hold the gathering at a malay mamak stall nearby Queensbay Mall. But it was raining heavily outside on that time so we just cincai find a restaurant inside QB~ So...we headed for Breeks~~!!!

Fortuitously, Fish Leong's new album promotion(签唱会) was held on the same time in QB mall as well. Everybody was sooooo wanted to see the popular star. We've spent about 15mins at there, standing and listening to her new song...Lol ~ When we reached the cafe, it was 8pm + already.

After we've ordered our food, socializing began!!~~~~ I've ordered a hot plate chicken chop which costs RM13.90, with a RM1 add on for a 'soup of the day' and a dessert, a mocktail called Spa Sampler which costs RM8.50.

We're in the mc D and have ordered 2 apple pies and 1 regular coke. Then, we found ourselves a seat and sat down and.......makan!!! I've brought along my laptop to study for Microscopy & Histology as well. But ended up sitting at there complained to May Lynn about how much I hate this subject and have read a little bit only -______-"
