Kelantan Trip Day 3 - 大吃大喝+佛庙篇

Actually, is Chen Wei wanted to do his passport la~ xP We were just "shun bin" visited it~~

Station 2 : KB Mall

Since we had to wait for the production of passport, we went to KB Mall to spent our 2 hours time. Taking this chance to shop for gifts~~ ehehe

Station 3 : Wat Laikatong

It's time for lunch~~~!! Starving~~

The first temple we went to is the Standing Buddha (站佛)temple - Wat Laikatong . Before visiting, we had our lunch at the stall beside the temple. Our lunch is~~~~ Nasi Kerabu!! yummy~

After lunch, we walked around the temple and took pictures~

Station 4 : Pantai Seri Tujuh

Right after lunch, we went to eat again!! Ahahaha~ Big appetizer huh~ We went to pantai but we didn't go near the seaside coz it has been raining yesterday) We've ordered fried seafood as our "tea-time". Fried squid, fried prawns, fried fish balls, keropok lekor, bla bla bla + coconut juice ^^

Station 5 : Wat Machimmaram

Next station, Sitting Buddha (坐佛) temple - Wat Machimmaram.

After visiting, Chen Wei fetched us to nearby stall to......EAT again. This time, we enjoyed the Kelantan special Ais Kacang~ Unfortunately, ML forgot to take the picture before she ate. So, below is the already half eaten Ais Kacang picture~ Muahahaha xD

Station 6: Wat Polithivan

Last temple that we visited is Sleeping Buddha (睡佛) temple - Wat Polithivan. We saw some cute puppies outside the temple, but the auntie there reminded us not to touch the puppies because their mom is very aggressive. It might bites.... Awh~~

Last last station, we went to enjoy "Som Tam", papaya salad.

Wikipedia : Som tam or Som tum (Thai: ส้มตำ, IPA: [sôm ɗam]) also known as Tam mak hoong (Isan: ตำบักหุ่ง, IPA: ɗam bak huŋ) is a spicy salad made from shredded unripened papaya. Som tam is derived from a traditional dish in Laos called tam mak hoong.

The dish combines the four main tastes of Thai cuisine: sour lime, hot chilies, salty fish sauce, and sweetness added by palm sugar.

Yummy~ !! However, we were not managed to finish the dishes due to the bloated tummy. xD

We're actually eating non-stop from 2pm until 6pm!! Wow~ we dapao it in the end..haha

That made us have to skip our dinner - Tom Yam =( so sayang~ We missed it since our bus back to Penang is 10pm on that night.

Thank you Chu Chee and Chen Wei for belanja us all the delicious meal and bring us jalan-jalan in Kelantan ~ ^^

Kelantan Trip Day 2 - 婚礼篇

Venue : Temangan 镇东宫 & Tawang

It's the day!!! Big big day~~~ Today is CC's big sis's wedding!! Early in the morning, the bride had went to uncle's house to prepare everything~ wear gown, make up, set hair.... And soon after that, the bridegroom came to fetch the bride ^^ ~ lovely ~

Kelantan Trip Day 1 - 巴士篇+中秋晚会篇

Date : 2th October 2009, Friday
Time : 9am - 4pm
Venue : In the bus, heading Kelantan

This is me and May Lynn's first time to Kelantan!!!! Whee~ and my first time to East Coast Peninsular Malaysia XD

We aboard the Mutiara bus at 9am at Sg. Nibong bus station in Penang and would stop at Tanah Merah, Kelantan. In fact, the bus was heading Kota Bahru so we need to ask the bus driver to stop us at the roadside of Tanah Merah Transnational Bus Station. May Lynn was soooo nervous and worried that the bus was forgotton to stop for us + speed phobia until she cannot have a nice sleep in the bus ~ XD haha

At last at last, we finally reach Tanah Merah, Kelantan !!! Chu Chee and Chen Wei ( CC bf =P) were already at the bus station to sambut us. And then, we're heading Temangan ~~~ Chu Chee's hometown~~~!!

Firstly, we went to CC's uncle's house to have our "tea-break" - nasi dagang? + curry chicken + cakes. Then, we're taken to visit the surrounding of the house, including REAL pigs xP. Never see REAL pigs before ==" Those pigs were reared by her uncle. Is that means we're urban citizens aka orang bandar? Paise oni =S

There was a Mid-autumn moon cake festival held at the temple. Me and ML followed CC them to take a look and kepo kepo a bit XD

Free paper lanterns were given free to the villagers. ML has played her tanglung 1st time in her life~ LOL She was so excited. Taking pictures and there.

There was also a few mini games organised for the villagers to win AngPao, to name a few, "Coconut" bowling competition, lighting up paper lantern competition, eating moon cake competition and so on~~ it's very lively ^^ I saw the little children (primary school) were wearing red shirt running here and there~ cute! =P

Field Trip? Trip?

1st October is BVT 312's last lab practical aka field trip~

Practical : Field efficacy of mosquito coil, mat and liquid vaporizer against night-biting indoor mosquitoes in living premises in the tropical environment

This field trip is conducted in a residential area in Ujung Batu, Butterworth, Penang~

Each group was given a task in different premises to test on different formulation's efficacy. My group was in charged in mosquito coil =/

After the lab assistant had found a premise for us to test on, we entered the house and greeted the house owner~ a mak cik was happily welcoming us

While we're exposing our "beautiful leg" to bait the mosquitoes (BLC- Bare Leg Catch technique), mak cik gave us some kuih raya and milo ais to enjoy~ lol ~ this was not a boring and tiring field trip after all =P After the kuih raya, mak cik even fried some pisang goreng for us!! Along with sirap ~~ Thank you so much mak cik ~~~ ^0^ The mak cik even said, if we told her earlier that we're coming, she will make laksa!!! awh~~~ sayangnye~~ we missed it XD

My group members were wondering......is this a field trip??? What're we doing actually? -_-"

We even watched Mr. Bean show at her house *lol and sweat*

Luckily, we still managed to catch a few mosquitoes to pass up "homework" =P

Where Got Ghost?

N days ago, (within raya break~ hehe) have went to watch this movie with CCH ah pek at BigCinema in Alor Star. Heard that SSM jie jie have another DATE so she don't want cannot join us. o_O

"Where Got Ghost?" (吓到笑) is a Singaporean hormedy (horror + comedy) film directed by Jack Neo. This film is Jack Neo's first attempt with horror flicks. The film is about three horror tales with Singaporean humour. The film consists of three horror tales which include, "Roadside Got Ghost"(路边有鬼), "Forest Got Ghost"(树林有鬼) and "House Got Ghost"(家里有鬼).

This is the first time I went to BigC to watch movie cuz it's just opened not long ago in Alor Star. The cinema is not as big as GSC though......but........FAINT!! Why on earth is the popcorn such expensive???!!! 1 regular combo also need RM15!! even more expensive than in GSC large combo! Mahal giler T.T

This is also the first time I watched (so called) ghost movie at midnight =S

Kung Fu? Cyborg?

开斋节假期前，跟室友们和一个家乡朋友去QB看了新上映的《机器侠》，本来是想看梁导的《吓到笑》的。。不过我房友听不懂福建话，怕“捉不到”电影的笑话精髓，所以就改看了由刘镇伟导，方力申主演的《机器侠》咯~~

电影一播，就以一句“上帝造人，人制造机器人；人能怀疑上帝，机器人为什么不能怀疑人？”为开场白。看了这句，就对电影内容还蛮期待的。。。怎知道。。。

故事发生地是在中国的宁波的著名古村走马塘村。。朋友说，为了省开支，做低成本电影？

故事大纲：

更劲的是，他们还不忘帮香港综艺节目《美女厨房》作宣传。。晕倒~~~谁叫里面的两位主持人都有份主演这部电影呢。。

看完了电影，我朋友说，这部是他今年看的最烂的一部。。呵呵~~~
还好，戏是人家刷卡请看的，不浪费 =P

Repellent? Non repellent?

Last few lab (a bit too long ago =P) we've tested the efficiency of mosquito repellent products on Aedes aegypti mosquitoes~

The mosquitoes were starved from blood feed for a few days before the experiment =S , which means, they're dying for blood~~~~~ hiak hiak

~Methodology~ Left hand was free from mosquito repellent, right hand has been sapu with mosquito repellent~ very obvious huh~ left hand was full with mosquitoes!!! *shocking*

Let's have a closer look on the left hand (without repellent)~~~ feel pity for Eng Hua (the hand's owner) it's full with mosquitoes!

The Final Destination 4

4th September, 8 of us (coursemates) went for movie!! The Final Destination was just onscreen and we're so excited to watch it. On the morning, my housemates (also coursemates~ lol) went to buy the tickets first. It's a midnight movie which started on 11.30pm o_O

According to my housemate, watching horror movie at midnight is fun!! =.= Somemore, this month is July in Chinese calendar....which mean.......ehem

Final Destination 4, is a 2009 3-D supernatural thriller/horror film written by Eric Bress and directed by David R. Ellis, both of whom also worked on Final Destination 2. It is the fourth installment to the Final Destination film series, and the first of which to be shot in HD 3-D.

From plane crash (FD 1) to highway crash (FD2) and then roller coaster crash (FD3), FD 4 is now performing race car crash ~~~

After the movie, it's around 1am in the next morning. We are not calling it a day yet =P Instead, we're heading for yum cha at the mamak stall ~ ehehe ~ talking, sembang-ing, chit-chating till puas, we just decided to go back home ~ we all are surely night ghosts XD

Dinner Time!!

4th Sept , we (housemates and I) decided to try on the Bali Bali Cafe's Ikan Bakar ~ share share eat is cheaper ma =P

Once we reached in front of the stall, my darling, May Lynn straight went to find a seat without any hesitation. The main reason for not coming to the stall is that she cannot speak Hokien (the seller was speaking Hokien)....ehehe....so me and Chu Chee become the order-er~~

We've ordered stingray as our main dish ~ using Kam Heong(甘香) to enrich the flavour ^__^

Side dish was lady's finger + winged bean fried with dried shrimp ~~ yummy yummy ~~

The total cost of this meal included 3 bowls of white rice is RM22.20 ~ quite economical ~

5th Sept, my hometown friend brought us to eat steamboat!! It's is situated in Jalan Tanjung Tokong (paise I've forgotten the shop name =.=) It's a buffet steamboat and cost RM21.90 per head (for weekend).

Firstly, we ordered fried Wan Tan as our appetizer, while waiting my friend's coursemate to come. According to him, the reason he asked his coursemate is to sapu as many food as possible cuz they both are big eater =.= That will make this meal more worth

The main character, steamboat is Yin Yong steamboat style ~ chicken soup + tomyam soup. We ordered many ingredients as possible, including chicken slices, prawns,meat balls, crab sticks, fish balls, squids, needle mushrooms, vege, dumplings, quail eggs, japanese taufu...... and many more~

Dessert is ice-cream!! On that night, 4 flavour of ice-cream were provided - chocolate, mint, jagung and strawberry~~
